Welcome

Welcome to Holland's blog. We wanted to share a little bit about this blog and what its purpose is. Our daughter Holland Kay Cottle died on October 22, 2011. She was two months old and no cause of death was found (SIDS). It has been beyond painful to have our daughter not with us. We miss her every day. But her short life and death have been a blessing to us as well. We have learned a great deal about life, our family, and ourselves. And we want to use the lessons gained from this painful experience for something that might help another family's life. On the Saturday before the 1 year anniversary of her death (AKA Holly-day), we will be running a 5k/10k in Lake Oswego, Oregon, which we have named the Holly Hoop. We want to encourage anyone who is interested to run, walk, bike, rollerblade, etc. in the 5k/10k. We will also be collecting donations for anyone who is interested. We will then use the donations to give to a local family who has lost a child. We will be giving the family a donation to be used specifically for grief counseling. Thank you for coming to our blog and checking it out.
